Certificate Program in Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution

The Canadian International Institute of Applied Negotiation ispleased to announce the successful completion of thePeacebuilding and Conflict Resolution Certificate Program.

The participants in the Certificate Program travelled fromJamaica, Switzerland, Somalia, Rwanda, India, Pakistan, USA andCanada. They represented the UNHCR, the Canadian Armed Forces,International Non-Governmental Organizations, and academics.

It was a highly informative and challenging experience forboth Faculty and Participants.

Programme Objectives

Through a highly interactive program delivered in a dynamiclearning environment:

• To define and situate peacebuilding as one of three peace-nurturing functions (including peacemaking and peacekeeping)
• To gain theoretical awareness and practical understanding of contemporary conflict and political violence and models of analysis and resolution
• To develop negotiation and mediation skills to be applied in peacebuilding and international conflict resolution
